The Aaron Price Fellows Program is led by Executive Director Annie Lyles with the support of Program Managers Hien Ihde and Garry Rollins and Administrative Coordinator Alejandra Cordova. Director of Strategic Initiatives Jennette Lawrence Shay collaborates with the team on alumni and fellows programming.

Annie Lyles, MSW
Executive Director
Annie Lyles is an alumna from the Class of 1994. Annie has been creating and leading youth development programs for almost twenty years. She has a BA in Social Policy from Northwestern University and a MSW from University of Washington with a concentration on social justice models in multi-ethnic practice. Prior to joining Price Philanthropies, Annie consulted for federal agencies, private foundations and local municipalities seeking to improve the lives of adolescents and their families. She also worked as a Youth Program Specialist for the County of San Diego’s Health and Human Services Department and as a social worker at Clark Middle School in City Heights.
Annie enjoys exploring San Diego neighborhoods with her two young daughters and husband. She loves cooking and reading and doesn’t miss a chance to try new things. Her current passion is learning to make guisados (Mexican style stews) and she continues to curate an annual book list with great books by diverse authors. Someday she is going to learn to play the bongos.

Hien Tran Ihde
Program Manager
Hien Tran Ihde is an alumna from the Class of 1999 and the Program Manager. Hien previously worked for the Aaron Price Fellows Program and at the San Diego VA Hospital in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Services, before rejoining the Aaron Price Fellows team in 2016.
During her time as a Fellow, Hien developed extraordinary friendships, professional resources and an understanding of how a city works. She loves using her experiences and skills to help facilitate personal growth in the next generation of exceptional Fellows.
Hien and her husband are enjoying the adventures of parenthood with their two toddlers. She is thankful to call San Diego her home and in her spare time she loves to cook for family and friends.

Garry Rollins
Program Manager
Garry is an alumnus from the Class of 1999 and the Program Manager. Prior to joining the team, he spent 13 years in the field of commercial real estate for the telecommunications industry. He also dedicates his personal time and resources to Southeast San Diego organizations focused on reinvigorating the community. Garry attributes his heart for philanthropy, as well as his personal and career successes, to the relationships and knowledge he gained as a Fellow.
Garry and his wife have 4 children that keep them busy with their activities in the Polynesian Dance Community. He enjoys playing basketball and exploring San Diego’s diverse culinary landscape with his wife.

Alejandra Cordova
Administrative Coordinator
Alejandra is an alumna from the Class of 2001 and the Administrative Coordinator. She joined the Fellows team in 2017 after working on Price Philanthropies’ grantmaking and parent and community engagement staff for many years. She has a lot of fun working with teenagers, and is excited to be part of the team that is inspiring and motivating the next generation of Fellows.
Alejandra and her son Manuel enjoy Netflix, ice cream and their cats Luna and Soda-pop.

Alejandra is an alumna from the Class of 2001 and the Administrative Coordinator. She joined the Fellows team in 2017 after working on Price Philanthropies’ grantmaking and parent and community engagement staff for many years. She has a BA from Cornell University and worked on political campaigns and in the U.S. Congress for Representatives Jay Inslee and Susan Davis. She then spent 10 years on the senior leadership team at Family Health Centers of San Diego, where she oversaw government and community relations and development.
Jennette and her husband have two toddlers, and she spends a lot of her free time these days at playgrounds and the San Diego Zoo. She loves to travel and ski with her family, and read good books when she finds a spare moment.

In addition to program staff, experienced facilitators provide mentorship and supervision at program events, including all overnight trips.

Phillip is a recent graduate of Pt. Loma Nazarene. He is an Aaron Price Fellows Alumni from the Class of 2011 and has worked with the Aaron Price Fellows Program since 2012.

Kasimu Harley, MFT
Kasimu is licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He has worked in local high schools and higher education for over 30 years and is currently pursuing his doctorate in educational leadership. He has been with the Aaron Price Fellows Program since its founding in 1991.

Stephanie is a California AmeriCorps Disaster Member with the American Red Cross. She is an Aaron Price Fellows Alumna from the Class of 2013 and has worked as a facilitator since 2017.

Angel is a Community Advocate with the City Heights Business Association and has served as a youth mentor with several non-profit organizations. He has worked as a facilitator since 2017.
